Consider the quote below. What exactly do you think it means and how does it relate to Web Design?
I think that the quote means that it doesn't matter what is on the outside it matters what is on the inside. It relates to web design by if your website looks prettier than someone else's website, it may look that way but yours may function a lot better and correctly and not look as pretty as that other persons website. An example of this design process would be the company Apple, and the reasons that it is so popular, because it may not look the nicest but definitely has functionality and is very easy to use.

User experience- it is the overall experience of a person using a product, such as a website or computer application or app like twitter or instagram, especially in terms of how easy or pleasing it is to use. You keep going back to something if you really like it or enjoy it.

Reflect on your learning this semester so far in this class. Think about the first day you walked in to this room until right now. What have you learned about Web Design? What have you learned beyond Web Design? Explain yourself.

I have learned in Web Design a lot about CSS and HTML and Style tags. What I have learned beyond Web Design is how to create a website starting from nothing and a lot about different colors and about blogging because I have remembered the things we do in class more recently. I also think it is pretty cool how we are actually publishing a cool website that I created all by myself and If I searched for my website on Google it would appear and pop up.

Tell me about your weekend. Give me details and photos!

Friday night I went to a couple of Halloween parties and did not go trick or treating, it was really fun at the second Halloween party because we watched Sinister and Insidious 2. They weren't really that scary in my opinion. On Saturday, I went to my sister's soccer game after sleeping in until one. Saturday night, my family and I went to Dick's Sporting Goods to get some miscellaneous items and after that we met our neighbors the Hess's at On The Border and saw the movie Lone Survivor at their house that night. On Sunday, I went to church, watched the Chiefs game, and did homework the entire day.

Tell me about your weekend. Share pics!
My weekend was decent because I didn't have a lot of homework and the Chiefs beat the Chargers but I had to also go to church on Sunday Night as well. I went to the football game on Friday night and we won 70-20 and a streaker ran across the field it was so funny. On Saturday, I slept in until 11:30 clocking in at 12 hours of sleep, not bad. Then I watched college football, played Xbox, went to help special needs kids at my church, and play basketball outside. On Sunday, I slept in until 11:15 and then watched football and did homework and went to church for a couple of hours.

What kind of background do you have with Photoshop? Have you used it before? What other types of design and editing software have you used before? Explain.

I have used photoshop before for computer classes that I took with Mr. Suhr through all three years in middle school and I think that it is pretty cool and interesting to mess around with. I will look forward to using it for this project.

Below is a letter written to the editor who wrote the article 'Enforcement of dress code creates negative effect' that your blogged about last week. Most of you wrote on your blog that you agreed with the writer. What are your thoughts after reading the letter below and seeing a different perspective. Are they the same? Are the different? Do you agree? Disagree? Explain yourself.
My thoughts about the article after reading the letter has mostly stayed the same but have really opened my eyes seeing it from a different perspective. I do agree with the original writer of the article as well as Ms. Scheuerman because of the different viewpoints both articles of writing have to offer.
I enjoyed reading both sides of the story because it was very informational and entertaining at the same time.

Monday, October 13th

The perfect curriculum for me would be sports and entertainment because it is really interesting to me and I would highly consider doing it for the rest of my life as well as advertising. I would study sports and entertainment marketing as well as entrepreneurship and some advertising classes and design classes. I would spend my class time wisely and enjoy every minute of learning and working and having fun all at the same time. It would be different from my class courses now because I would be surrounded by people who want to do or try the same things I would like to and set me up for a bright future unlike some of my classes I am currently taking which I feel like will not help me at all when I am a grown adult.

The following article was in the September issue of The Tiger Print. Read the article (even if you already have) and respond to it below. What do you think? Do you agree? Disagree? Consider all perspectives of the article while you respond.

I think that the writer has a very good point of view and that she is very upset at what is going on here at BVHS. I agree with her statements mainly because the point that she brought up about how rather than teaching boys how to control themselves, girls must change. That would stink if I was a girl I guess.  The learning is not affected at all by what girls wear at least to me anyway and that is a fact because I have learned just as well, with or without the clothing that girls wear.

Tell me about your weekend! If you don't have anything fun to share, tell me about the city you live in. What do you love about Kansas City? Do you have a favorite place in the city? Favorite team? :) Favorite event? Explain.

My weekend was pretty good, Friday night I went to soccer practice and then went to  a friends house until midnight. Saturday, I went to the West Bottoms and I went to The Farmers Market as well after eating at the Farmhouse. On Sunday, I went to church and did chores and homework, and watched a lot of football.

Tell me about your Homecoming weekend! If you didn't participate in the Homecoming festivities, what did you do? Share pics!

My first Homecoming experience  was amazing because the girl I was with made me smile. At first, I went to her house and gave her her corsage. Then we went to Anderson's house to have our pictures taken. Next we went to dinner at Houlihans. After that we walked around at town center. We also went to the dance for an hour and a half. It was nice, but the music was really loud, because you could barley hear her talking to me because the music was too loud. After the dance we went to my friend's Zach's house and it was nice because we had snacks and talked around the bonfire, to end the night her mom took me home at 12:15 and we said our thank yous and goodbyes. Overall, it was a great night.

How was your weekend? Did you do anything exciting? Share photos!

My weekend was very thrilling and enjoyable because I was always doing something. Friday night, I had soccer practice and then I watched a movie called RED. Saturday morning, I went to Blue Valley High's cross country meet in Wyandotte County Park to cheer on some friends. They did very well and it was cool to see and be in the environment of my first cross country meet. Then, I watched college football and went to my brothers soccer game. They won five to two and then I went to my cousin's soccer game and they lost four to two. After that, I went to see The Maze Runner at Palazzo with six other friends and it was very good. Sunday, I sold my electric scooter after church and then I watched the Chiefs game and did my homework.

Now that you are several weeks in to this class and have coded one (super small) website, what do you think? What are your thoughts on web design? Is it what you thought it would be? Is it better? Worse? What's your favorite part? What's your least favorite part? Explain.

My thoughts on Web Design is that it is very fun when you know how to code correctly. When I forget the code that I need for that specific task it is difficult to complete it the way I would like to. It is somewhat similar to what I thought it would be like but since I have only been in high school for a couple of weeks I did not expect much of what it would be like because I would have no other way of knowing without talking to upper class man.My favorite part is blogging every day at the start of class and my least favorite part is coding and taking test.

Thursday, September 18th

What is the importance of deadlines? How do high school deadlines reflect or simulate "real world" experience? Give an example of when you met or or didn't meet a deadline that was important.

Deadlines are extremely important because if you don't meet them then you might receive a zero or a huge percentage off and even if you get a 100 percent than you would get a 60 or worse in the grade book and that is what colleges look at. High school deadlines reflect the real world by if you are late to work you get fired, if you are a reporter and don't turn in a report, you get fired, if you work in construction and don't finish a job on time you get fired, if you are a business man and are late to a meeting, then you get fired, if you are an athlete and are late to a game or match, you lose lots ans lots of money at the least. As you can see, it is important to meet deadlines and not procrastinate, lie or stall anything what so ever at anytime in your life. In the eighth grade we had a huge World War II unit and had a month long project worth 250 points, I received a 100 because I turned it in on time and went above and beyond.

Reflect on this quote. Give an example of a time in your life that this might have been the case.

This quote is very true and applies to everyone every single day usually more than once. By not preparing for either a test or really anything, you set yourself up for failure which is never an easy thing to accept in my opinion. Once in my life I was camping and we forgot rain coats so of course it rained a lot, we forgot a Coleman propane tank so of course it was cold, and we also forgot a tarp so all of our supplies and luggage got drenched. There is a lot to remember to the game of life and if you forget somethings than it will be very costly and sometimes unforgiving.

What did you do this weekend? Share pictures if you have them!

This weekend I went to the Blue Valley High School Football Game against West and we won by a pretty big margin. I tailgated before hand and had barbecue which was very delicious. On Saturday, I watched college football, and got a suit for homecoming and bought some movies at Best Buy. That night, I went to my monthly bible study and I had four sloppy joes for dinner. On Sunday, I went to church a eight in the morning because I was doing camera and next I went to my sisters soccer game and did homework and watched the Patriots game and the Chiefs game. To end the night I watched the Bears comeback and beat the 49ers on Sunday Night Football on NBC.

Thursday, September 11th

Below is one of my favorite quotes that I found on Pinterest. Think read and think about what this says and then blog about it. What does this quote mean to you? Elaborate! Feel free to give an example of tell a story.
This quote means to me that people especially kids are very spoiled and somewhat bratty when they do not get what they want. I love when it says you have seen none percent of the world because that is very true and if you think that you have seen it all you really haven't, I have traveled through around 38 states in the country and I have hardly scratched the surface of what is out there in the world that never sleeps. I once was sick and said that I am bored but with a TV, phone, XBOX, and board games why should I say such a thing. No that I have realized that I should never say that I am bored I will work on saying it less and less. I liked this quote a lot! It was a huge eye opener.

How do you express your creativity? Explain.

I express my creativity by showing it during a soccer game or when I am in my room doing homework or a long project. That way I can really explain my thought process without being uncomfortable. During a game when I want to try something new I can if I know it is smart and will help the team not hurt it. Finally, I can express my original ideas in a story I am writing or in a picture I am drawing because I love visuals especially original ones.

What did you do this weekend? Share pictures if you have them!

This weekend I went to my cousins house and visited with them on Friday after we had a captains practice for soccer. On Saturday, I went to my sisters soccer game at the Overland Park Soccer Complex after thinking of ideas for Honors Biology, which was awful. Saturday night I went to a friends house, we played soccer outside, watched the Sporting KC game, had BLT's for dinner, and chocolate ice cream for dessert. On Sunday, I went to eight O'Clock church service and then did some Spanish homework. Then I watched the Chiefs get killed in their home opener. Next, I went to a funeral for my dad's side of the family, it was very sad. Next, I went to my sister's soccer game and she lost 1-0 sadly, it was fun though because my brother and I shot on each other the entire game on a different field.

Friday, September 5th

Kids these days have way more than I ever did. With all their cellular devices and wireless internet, life is a breeze these days. I had to work harder than they ever did every day just to earn a living. I feel like every thing is now at their fingertips and easy access no matter what it is that they are doing. They have also put on some pounds since I was a kid, they throw away more food than I got to start with. I don't know if they are changing for the better all I know is that Miley Cyrus is insanely idiotic and I will never have a smartphone because there are no buttons and the screen hurts my eyes. Also I know that the world is rapidly changing in both good and bad ways.

Tell me about what you have learned in this class so far. Have you learned a lot? Do you want to learn more? What do you want to be able to do by the end of the semester?

I have learned a lot mostly about coding in HTML. I enjoy learning it because I find it interesting and it something I have never done before for sure. I would like to start and learn CSS because I have heard it is a lot more enjoyable than html. So I am definitely looking forward to that for sure. I want to be able to make my own website and customize it the way I would like. I am really looking forward to what is coming up because I am an open book right now and want to learn more every day. I also know it will help me later on in life.

Tell me all about your Labor Day weekend. What did you do? Include photos!

This weekend I saw Guardians of the Galaxy and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, I loved Guardians of the Galaxy a lot, it was very unpredictable and thrilling. I didn't like the Turtle Ninja movie as much because the story line was not very entertaining. I also went to Wyandotte, Kansas and was in the parade on a float called there is no place like home. It was the theme of the fall festival. After that, I went to the fair in Wyandotte and almost threw up after riding a swing sort of roller coaster that went in circles for a very long time. Overall, it was a good long weekend.

Read this small newspaper clipping and then write a blog post about it. What are your thoughts? How does it make you feel? Do you agree? Disagree? Explain yourself.

My thoughts on this newspaper clipping are that it is very true and an eye opener. To face the cold hard truth and the real world you should just read this and do what it tells you to do. I liked how it gave specific examples and was very relatable being a teenager myself. I think that the whole school should read this because if we all lived by this the school would change for good and would make life a lot more enjoyable. I definitely agree with these words of wisdom and it makes me feel great.

Tell me if you agree with this statement and then explain why or why not. "Images on the internet are 'free game' - if someone posted it, I should be able to use it."

I do not agree with this statement because some peoples pictures and post are personal. If the image is on Google images then I would be ok with it then but if someone has posted it onto their own website that would not be alright. Overall, it isn't cool to take a picture from someone else randomly or any kind of post so that is a huge reason to treat others the way you want to be treated.

What are you looking forward to this school year? Include some original photos from your phone if you can.

Hi, my name is Daniel Middleton, I just made C team in soccer a couple days ago and our first game is this Friday against West. I am involved in soccer and I would like to find out more about Tiger Cross. I am a Freshman this year and I went to BVMS last year. My favorite teacher is Mr. Williams and my favorite class is Entrepreneurship. I am looking forward to the soccer season and enjoying lunch.

Monday August, 25th

What do you know about Web Design right now? What did you know about Web Design before you walked in to this class? Tell me as much as you can about how web pages work. Try to use an example if possible.
Right now all I know about Web Design is that it takes a long time to make a website correctly and to make a website that you can navigate easily and also be creative it isn't easy. Before I walked into the class I knew that you always want to make changes to everything you do after you already do it so you have to keep attempting to succeed. All I know about how web pages work is that each picture, image, title, word, symbol, all originally used to be either a black and white 1 or 2. Pretty crazy to think about I think. The only example I can think of is like in a chemical reaction when you have chlorine and sodium and you add them together you get table salt which is a completely different substance.
